Jaco - "Where the Beachfront Action Is..."
A thriving nightlife, great restaurants, and excellent surfing are the main reasons Jaco is filled with energy and excitement. This community is clearly the center of the action, with proximity to nearly everything, it continues to grow and is remains the most developed beach-town in Costa Rica. Jaco is also where you can find Titled Beachfront and while condos tend to be the popular choice for many, many houses are available as well. While prices have and continue to clime it's still possible to find beachfront condos for under $250K and properties just a block away for as low as $60K!
Known for its great surfing, this bustling beachtown is experiencing many exciting developments, specifically high-rise condos. Jaco is clearly the engine and heart for the Central Pacific. With its thriving nightlife, restaurants, bars, and stores it continues to grow as one of the most popular tourist destinations in all of Central America. Some people absolutely love Jaco, others really dont prefer the influx of tourists and problems that come with them.

Punta Leona / Herradurra - "Tranquility Awaits"
Whether it is the proximity to the prestigious Los Suenos Resort and Marina or the beautiful pristine white sand beach in Punta Leona this area remains a popular destination for those who seek to be just outside of bustling Jaco. Many of those who make the permanent move to Costa Rica or want the luxuries of Los Suenos prefer this area. While not much beachfront is available, there are many homes, lots, and condos throughout. Luxury residencies in Los Suenos start at $500K, but other properties can be found for as low as $200K.
Herradura, located 5-10 minutes North of Jaco, features Costa Rica’s only marina. The marina is located Los Suenos Resort, which also features a golf course, Marriott Hotel, and luxury homes/condos. Most of the development near the Marina is luxury property and quite expensive, however there are great options just ten minutes away towards Punta Leona. Punta Leona is just North of Herradura, famous for its pristine white sand beach, it features quite a bit of new development at affordable prices.

Hermosa - "Surfers Paradise"
Pro Surfing and stunning oceanviews is what you will see in Hermosa. Located just minutes from Jaco, Hermosa offers a great alternative that would like to live close to but just outside the action. Housing options include homes just minutes to the beach, high end ocean-view homes and lots, while condo and beach-front options in this area are limited. Properties range anywhere from $150K-2.5 million.
Located just a few miles South of Jaco, Hermosa offers a great alternative for those who want to be close to Jaco, but live just outside the action. This quant beachtown has little as far as commercial development and few options for beachfront real estate. It does however have lots and houses just minutes from the beach and many luxurious properties up in the hills providing some of the most beautiful oceanviews in the area.

Esterillos - "Retire In Style"
Quickly becoming the next hot spot, Esterillos is becoming more and more the destination for many. Two new golf courses and the rural setting will attract many of those looking to retire and enjoy Costa Rica’s paradise. Located just 20 minutes South of Jaco, it is still close enough to enjoy the ammenites of Jaco, yet offers a truly peaceful setting. Housing types include luxury residencies, large lots, oceanview properties and small homes. Much new development is taking place with pricing starting as low as $150K and lots as low as $99K.
Drive south from Jaco for just 20-25 minutes and you will find Esterillos. Anchored by two golf courses currently underway and the development of exclusive resorts, Esterillos is quickly becoming discovered as the premier alternative to Jaco. Located between Jaco and Quepos, this old fishing town is yet another great surf spot. There is little as for commercial development, but it is still close enough to Jaco to make it reasonable for many.
